Shimano is the largest manufacturer of bicycle components in the world. They are highly skilled craftsmen and engineers born from a heritage of metal crafting in Sakai, Japan, known around the globe for their expertise in forming complex metal shapes.

As we researched the company’s heritage we were surprised to discover that the founder’s vision in 1921 wasn’t about creating a company with manufacturing excellence, but about bringing people together in nature. We created the foundational “Engineering Dreams” platform as a way to tell the story of this visionary leader’s drive for all people to be healthier and happier by enjoying the outdoors, and bringing the dreams of their customers and their engineers together.

After nearly 100 years, the company still fulfills this dream by making the finest products in the world, so cyclists and anglers can better enjoy the sports they love.
